Ledger
Every payment, payout, fee and wallet movement as double-entry journal entries, checked for integrity.
Each organisation has a double-entry ledger. Settled payments, refunds, collections, payouts, transfers, wallet credits and platform commission are posted to it automatically as journal entries, so your finance team can reconcile every amount.
Reading the ledger
| Endpoint | Returns |
|---|---|
GET /api/ledger/accounts | The ledger's accounts and their balances per currency |
GET /api/ledger/entries | Journal entries with their lines, newest first |
GET /api/ledger/health | The latest integrity checks |
POST /api/ledger/sync | Posts anything not yet in the ledger now (it also runs on its own) |
Every entry balances: its debits equal its credits in each currency. Entries are never edited; a correction is a new entry.
Integrity checks
GET /api/ledger/health reports four checks:
| Check | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Debits equal credits in every currency | The ledger as a whole balances |
| Every journal entry balances | No single entry is lopsided |
| Account balances match their lines | Cached balances agree with the entries |
| Wallet balances match the ledger | Customer wallets agree with the ledger (informational) |
A failed check is shown in the dashboard's Ledger page, and the platform operator is alerted.
The ledger can be turned off for an organisation by its plan; see Plan limits and access.
